June Park Update

June Updates / Important Reminders

  • Bake Sale - It was a record year. With sales and donations, we took in $728.12!!!!! Thanks to all involved (Chris Dressler, Marylin Malone, and Lisa / Mark Sonnabend). The kids will be more than happy with decorations this year.

  • Bike Parade Decorations - I need someone to step up this year and take over the Bike Parade. They would be in charge of going out and purchasing decorations, planning, and setting up the decorating station in the orchard and helping the kiddos a little. It's a great time down there. Please, I need your help on this. We can't let the kids down.

  • Community Yard Sale - It will be held June 17th from 8:00am - 3:00pm. Time to share those no longer needed treasures with someone in the Park. Place items in front of lot so people can see and voice interest.

  • Golf Cart Mechanic - A Mechanic will be in the park June 27th (at the office) to work on golf carts. If you are in need of his services, please come up that day and let him do his "thing" to your cart. Service charges unknown at this time. Thank you to Mike Pinto.
  • Important: Recycle ContainerAttached is a letter from Consolidated, the company that picks up our garbage/cardboard. We have received one of these in the past and this is our second. There will be no more warnings. We have to insure that we keep garbage out of the cardboard container. If not, we are going to lose it. Then everyone will be forced to haul their respective cardboard debris to the dump. Please be mindful of what is inside your cardboard and also inform your guest(s) of this rule. We can't afford to lose our amenities.

Playground Update

Today started out with a focus on figuring out what to do with the logs that lined the playground.  It quickly snowballed into clearing the entire space!

Enjoy the pictures of the work that a small group put in, it didn't take long.

Next weekend we will start with the following tasks:

- We have a square landscape scoped, but need to tear out grass and rake around dirt and level the entire space.

- We will need to stain the wood edge that will be going in, and once dried, place all borders.

- Break out into teams to figure out each play item and figure out first steps, placement, cement needs, etc. according to layout plan.

Ray also would like a couple experienced dock workers to do some maintenance.

See you next weekend!

If you build it, they will come ... to a new playground!

Owners this is very exciting news!

Rim Rock Cove will be renovating/replacing most of the playground equipment for the kids with a fresh and updated playground in the orchard.

Sarah Kautzman + Andra Mancer have worked tirelessly on researching and presenting a variety of new options.  Almost every age group was addressed in the design of the playground and there are some exciting additions on the list!  Thank you so much!

The Board of Directors would like to have the new playground installed and ready for use by Memorial Day Weekend!  With that in mind there is a lot of work to be done and we will need as many people as possible to help with the total makeover.

Please bring gloves and any hand tools you think may be of use.

Here are the dates and times for each work party:

May 6 - 8:00 am
May 7 - 9:00 am
May 13 - 8:00 am
May 14 - 9:00 am

If needed:

May 20 - 8:00 am
May 21 - 9:00 am

Randy Hill (Lot 104) is spearheading the work parties.  If you have any questions regarding the work weekends please contact him at 425-785-3403 or email at rockinrockfish@msn.com
